Different size and composition coins require different lighting. I think they have just compromised and used the average lighting required for all coins. Some appear too dark, some too light. With as many coins as they image and auction, I'm not surprised.
That's what I figured...I noticed that the blue color of the PCGS is consistent between photos which suggests that TT uses one setting, but I had to ask. btw, that example is about the lustre, condition, and color (or lack thereof) that I want if I ever own a nice Peace dollar. Same with a Franklin half.
