PSA 8 or PSA 9, does it make that much of a difference?

There have been many card sets produced over the years with a number of different characteristics, whether they have no boarders, thin boarders, wide boarders, gold boarders, etc. I was wondering which set(s) the difference between a PSA 8 and PSA 9 seems to make the biggest difference in eye appeal? I know there are several things that can result in the lowering of a PSA 9 to a PSA 8 but are there any sets that PSA 8s vs PSA 9s really make a huge difference?

Does slight wear in black cards or maybe the width difference in the boarders of wide boarder cards take the most away from the cards? Are there other characteristics that really make a difference in PSA 8s and PSA 9s in the eyes of the collector?

I would love to know if anyone else has thought of this question. Let me know what you think?
