how come the second one says 2.5 G and 250M on it wouldn't that be a sign that it's gold.

I'm not an expert on Cuban coins, but based on what I do know of Spanish-heritage coins, there are two possibilities. First, not very long before these were made, centavo-denominated coins were silver and the markings might allude to that. Several Latin American nations retained old silver/gold markings on coins when they changed to making them of less precious metals. Second, sometimes these inscriptions can refer to an authorizing law, not the metal content. Someone better versed in Cuban coinage could probably give you a more definitive explanation.
