I know this topic has come up before, but would like to hear recent stories of GAI to PSA crossovers. (Cracked, out of GAI holders)

I have cracked out 6 in the past year and overall it has been good. If i remember correctly i cracked all 7.5's and 2 went to a 7, 1 to a 6 and 3 went 8.
T206's are always being bought.

No really i have never heard of a good result with psa doing it that way. You really need to crack it out.( Especially GAI)

<< <i>What is the recommended technique for busting a card out of a slab without damaging it? >>
Mark:
Search the forums for more information. In some sense, it depends on the holder. The best choice usually involves a Dremel.
BGS 8.5 = PSA 9
BGS 8.5 Raw Card Review = PSA 9
BGS 9.5 = PSA 10
I would be interested in seeing how GAI in-slab would go.
evid of trimming or whatever from past threads? Is it because PSA hates GAI? Card looks weird or
smaller in that black insert?
I know the consensus (also from past threads) regarding this topic is to crack out and send it to PSA
and it always seems good. I've had 14 GAI 9's that I've crossed over to PSA in raw form. Those went
to PSA on 3 different submissions mixed in with my other stuff. 10 10s, and 4 9s were the results from
those 14. Occasionally, I would pick up GAI 9s if they look that good to me and crack them out and
resubmit.

<< <i>Thanx for the replies - Looks like I'll be buying a few GAI cards soon. >>
I strongly urge you to reconsider. You're taking a very big risk. The cards that you buy from GAI has a very good chance of being trimmed or even worst. If you want high grade PSA cards, why mess around with the amateurs like GAI/BGS, etc? Go right to the source and buy PSA graded cards!
If you want a big mac, you don't go to Burger King for a whopper, do you?

I really can't believe you think this (dabighurt ). I mean come on the competition is great for us as collectors. It assure's us a quality product from all involved and give's us the power to choose one or the other. I in no way would say that PSA is a second tier company or any other that you mentioned. I happen to like PSA and GAI. I believe they do a very similar jog when it come's to there grade's. Where i do give GAI the edge (at least for now ) is in the customer service dept. I can call with any concern's and speak to Steve or Mike directly or get a direct response within a day.
As far as i'm concerned they are both top notch, But am bothered when you see people blindly follow and knock other's for know real reason other than to curry favor. We all know them at our job's. DON'T WE.
