Most Persistent Seller Award

I regularly search for PSA 10s on eBay just to see what is out there and if there are any good deals. One card caught my attention when I started doing this because I thought it was ridiculously overpriced and found it humorous that the seller stated "Very reasonable minimum bid." Now I'm starting to feel sorry for the guy. I began browsing in December and it's now March, I've seen this card up for sale probably once a week. The minimum bid has never wavered from its $105 mark. He just keeps relisting it and relisting it. The selling fees for starting an auction at $105 can't be that cheap. Why doesn't this guy get a clue and the lower the damn minimum bid so he can sell the card!?!?

If you relist an unsold item, you don't have to pay the fee again to relist it. And while I wouldn't pay $105 for a Lavar Arrington card unless it was delivered by Teagan Presley, the card in question is a rarity. A raw copy just sold for $51, so throw in that it's a PSA 10, and I think a $105 price isn't outside the realm of the senses. But yes, he might get a little more action with a lower starting point.
    WANTED:
2005 Origins Old Judge Brown #/20 and Black 1/1s, 2000 Ultimate Victory Gold #/25
2004 UD Legends Bake McBride autos & parallels, and 1974 Topps #601 PSA 9
Rare Grady Sizemore parallels, printing plates, autographs

    Nothing on ebay
  • So you can relist an item forever and not have to pay fees? I thought you could only do it once...

"Card books for $200" is a total fantasy if it repeatedly fails to sell for half that amount. I'm sure it's a Beckett fantasy, but SMR has its share of "yeah right" market values, both high and low.

Means Dr. Beckett has a hoarde of these stockpiled somewhere...!
  • If you relist an unsold item, you don't have to pay the fee again to relist it.

If you relist an item and it sells the second time the listing fee is waived for the relisting. If it does not sell you pay for the listing fee. I would think you could relist for free off a relisting if it sells but all the times an item does not sell you are paying a fee.

Even if you use the relisting option, you pay the fee but are refunded if it sells. He has paid $2.40 for each time listed.
  • This guy does the same thing all the time. He has listed this card a countless # of times.

not sure if this is against ebay rules but a way to do this is... the card he is listing for XXX dollars that does not sell. you relist the card but change the listing to another card which you know will sell. when it does sell you get credited the listing fees. then if you still want to sell the original card for XXX dollars you do a new listing. if it does not sell then you again use the relist option change it to a card that will sell. again getting credit for the second listing fees when the card sells. he may be doing this and not really out the listing fees.
