Upgraded my 1954 Mint Set...

I finally got the GPA of my 1954 Mint Set above 67 (thanks Clackamas).

This was my final goal I wanted to happen before this year's deadline (June).

Now I can look forward to creating my goals for next year.

    It is a good start.

The coins to take this set higher will really start eating up my coin budget.

Wow, nice, I am glad I could help. #1 all time!!!!! I will keep a look out for 54-P in 66RD for you. I have only made one of those in the oodles of rolls and it is in my lincoln set. I did hear Andy from Angel Dees had a super one a few weeks back. Its scary to say but a 54-P in 66RD may be the easiest coin to find to upgrade your set. For those of us that do Lincoln's that is blasphemy.

I currently have about ten 1954 P lincolns that I will be offering to the PCGS gods in the future.

I am trying to build one myself (failing that buying one will be destined to be one of my next year (after June) goals).
  • It took me almost two years to find a 54-P in 66RD that I thought deserved the grade. Several 66RDs were horrible - weak strike and poor lustre. Not 66's in my book. The one I finally got is in my Registry Set and is the best I've seen, but still is not as good as many of my other 66's. They are out there, though.
