OPINIONS ON THESE 2005 BUFFALO PROOFS I BOUGHT !

SORRY NO PICS YET.. i EMAILED HIM TODAY AND THEY ARE GOING TO BE IN SAFETY FLIPS. i WILL PROBABLY GET AIR TITES FOR THE PROOFS

Ok folks, I think I found a good deal.. 2 p&d buffalos plus the 2 proofs.."Buffalo" and "Ocean in View". I went to completed auctions and saw that the proofs alone were @ the 9-11.00 range.
So I thought and thought and hoping my wife doesn't shoot me..(Especially after the toilet seat).. I broke down and bought 10 sets.
total w/shipping $96.00 (8.95 x 10 + 6.50 s/h)
So I get
10 buffalo proofs
10 ocean in view proofs
20 p& d buffalos

= 40 coins divided by 96.00 = 2.40 per coin.
keeping 2 sets and trying to sell the rest, should make my money back. (until then The couch should be comfy)

I'm going to wait and buy them both in PCGS PR69DCAM. I just got my Peace and my Keel in 69DCAM. I decided to start a "nickel set" and acquire all of the new nickles that come out for my unborn child. With this auction there is no guarantee that you will receive 69DCAMS. Sounds like a great deal though for those who don't need em' slabbed!

All of the 2005 coins came out with the proof sets, thats were the ocean proof is coming from.

I'd like to have a couple of the new uncirculated buffaloes(+ proof) and had a few bucks in my Paypal account, so I bought a couple of them from that auction. I'll probably send them in to PCGS and have them graded(if not bunged up) just to have them. Thanks for posting it.

Based on the current PCGS pop reports for the Keel Boat and Peace Medal nickels, if you submit 100 nickels, 99 will come back PR69DC. The one that does not come back P69DC has a greater probablility of being P70DC by a factor of 3 over coming back less than P68DC.

I guess it depends on how much you are willing to pay/wait for the slab.

Was in the process of ordering my 2005 proof set untill I see they don't deliver to a PO box. How stupid, expecially since it gives a PO box as an example.

I think I may have to side with "bgrice" on this one. Was thinking about buying already slabbed in PR69DCAM...until I watched 4 bidders battle this one out in the last 35 seconds.....and....they are not even in the sellers hands yet.

Hmmmm, so how are these sets being made? By cracking the 2005 Proof Sets? Seems like not a very lucrative venture to crack half of a $22.95 Proof Set (probably $20 in bulk), sell the nickels for $9, then dispose of the quarters portion (without "quarter set" mint packaging) and the other coins.
