New edition of the Bowers Morgan dollar book coming out

LongacreLongacre Posts: 16,717 ✭✭✭
I read on the ANR site that a new edition of Bowers' Morgan dollar book will be coming out soon, with updated population and pricing information. Does anyone know if this will be a regular occurance with all of his new Whitman books? I think the Morgan dollar book came out just last year, so I don't know if this will be a yearly thing or not. Does anyone know?

Why would you bother updating pricing info thats volatile and could change up or down on a whim. Makes no sense to me.

I think they have exhausted the print run of the first edition. Rather than reprinting it as is, they are updating it. At least that's what I read into the situation.

I received an early gift copy of the first printing from a local coin dealer, and have noticed many typographical and photo errors which I assume that they'd like to correct with a second edition, and not simply a second printing.

I have gotten a lot of value from Dave's first Morgan Dollar Book, and although I probably won't purchase this new edition, I will instead probably purchase his new Type Coin Book just released.

I highly recommend Dave's book to all Morgan Dollar Collectors, and those considering taking up colelcting the series. For $17 list price, it's got a wealth of information for a very reasonable investment price. image

I agree with Stuart. The first edition needs a thorough editing. If they improve it, I may consider buying another copy.

I thought they where going to release more editions without the pricing included, I thought that is what the book said.....

  • I'll agree with correcting all those typo's, and how about spiral bound, thats the way to go.
  • The first edition had quite a few errors. At first it was a little distracting, but it got worse and very distracting as I made my way through the book. If they fix the errors, I would be more than willing to buy the next revision and burn the first edition.

I agree- a first rate book shouldn't be released with that many errors......
