What set did you look at today?

Today I sat back and with magnifier in hand I browsed through my 1975 Topps set. So many wonderful colors makes this set a true winner IMO. My set made from 2 vending boxes 30 years ago (was missing about 12 cards) until, I was able to find them on Ebay and at a show or 2. How often do you actually sit back and enjoy what you have?

edited to add: I am debating if I should take advantage of this months reg special and send in the HOF's from this set.
Good for you.

    Hi Steve
I'm clearing out my desk and mailing some stuff out...and just read card #1 and 2 of this year's heritage set.
I know...no one wants to hear about this but....on the SP's, I have noticed that the cartoons are different on the SP vs. the common of the same card number...let's hear it for Topps. Except there is one SP with the same cartoon on the common but the narratives are different...I wonder if anyone else has noticed this? I will leave out which one.

Otherwise, it's raining and there's a Columbo-fest on TV! image

The sets I most enjoy looking at I put into binders just for this reason.

The 93 flair set with it's thick stock and to the edge printing, just a beautiful set. There are several sets I just love like this...and of course, my in progress 71 baseball graded set...just love flipping through them and enjoying them.
  • I love browsing my very first set. I put the 1978 Topps set together as a 10 year old and now have every single card in a top loader for easy handling and viewing. I'll sit with the giant shoebox and look through them now and then. I can identify every single player in the set from the picture alone without looking at the name on the bottom of the card.

The building excitement of my 86 topps set is killing me. This is the first I completed as a kid. I remeber when cecil fielder was "hot" (sounds funny now for a few reasons) and I went through my set and saw a huge ding in my Cecil. I plan to look at it after I open the 5 retail blaster boxes I picked up today. Oh wait, did this just become a heritage thread, I will post in the other thread sorry. image

This afternoon, I looked through my 77/78 Topps basketball set in a binder. It's my favorite design from the 70's. Save for some snow and centering issues, most of the cards are NM-MT+.

I love the colors, the player selection, the uniforms and styles of the era (plus the neat trivia question on the back).
