I like this coin, but I would appreciate some of your opinions on it. Grade? It's a reverse of 97. Not sure on hair style. I believe the reverse is usually nice on these.

The reverse looks to have some pitting all over. I'll WAG F-12 (I stink at grading very early copper.)

VG+ details, corroded/porous, net Good or so. Not a bad coin at all

Just got a 1798 2nd Hair Style F-12 back from SEGS a couple of weeks ago . . . looks identical. Also . . . in defense of these "2nd-Tier" services, they identified a clip, the style of hair, and did it all for a $7 charge and got 35 coins back to my within a month. I am normally a PCGS submitter . . . but for some things, the SEGS grading special was just too good to pass up. (Especially with every 5th coin free!)

So . . I'd also go with F-12. My reverse (well the coin's . . not mine) is also strong.
