72 Lincoln - Is this a DDO or Machine Doubling?

I was looking through my old childhood lincoln set today. It used to be in a Whitman folder but I recently transferred it to a US Mint Album and I have been recently filling in some of the missing holes (which were mainly in the teens and twenties). I was looking through it wondering how I would ever fill those last few holes. I had already put a weak D in the 22 Plain spot, a poor mans double die in the 55 DDO spot, but I still had empty holes for the 09SVDB, 11D, 14D, 70S small date and last, but not least, the 72 DDO. I was looking at that 72 DDO hole and then I looked over at the 72 next to it. I had pulled it out of circulation in 72. I noticed the 1 looked funny. I got my loupe and looked at it and it looks a bit doubled. The 9 does also and there also seems to be a little bit of something going on on the bottom serif of the 2. I had always thought the 72 DDO was really dramatic, so I don't really think this can be one, but I'm not sure. Please take a look at the attached microscope pictures and give me an opinion, if you so desire. Is this a DDO or is it machine doubling? Even if it is just machine doubling, I may consider moving it over to the 72 Double Die Hole cause it looks more doubled than the poormans one I have in the 55 image thanks for looking.

A 1972 DDO is more obvious than that. You could see it with no problem.

It's not the popular doubled die, but Coppercoin's site may help you decide if you have one of the lesser known doubled dies. I can't really help you from your picture, but this site might help. Good luck!

Edited to fix link. Under "departments", click on "Lincoln cents" and then "die variety search" (on the left).

I got a whole roll of BU "Poor Man's 1972 Doubled Dies", as we called 'em in the old days (I see you're one of the old crowd!). Turns out they were Die #3, which is not the biggie but still worth something. Maybe you could have one of the lesser varieties.

There are so many varities of DDO's for 72 it could be one, but just a minor one. to me it looks like you may have botha DDO and a strike doubled coin.

Thanks for the responses. I couldn't find an exact match on Coppercoins site (thanks for the link, it is an excellent site). Based on the responses I'll assume that it has some minor doubling. And off it goes over into the 72 Double Die hole image . Bot now I have to find a regular 72 to fill the other hole image .

For various reasons it doesn't look like a doubled die, but often these things have to be determined by either having a very good, well focused photo or having the coin in hand.
