1883 V Nickle guestion

I come a cross a 1883 v nickel with out cents that has douple letters on the reverse. I didn't know if this was common for these or not.

    I know there are 12 varieties for re-punched mint marks on the 1883 W/O cents, but I am not aware of a DDR. Perhaps a double strike?
