Hello to all,
This is my first post aswell as my first question for all you coin nuts out there "myself included"....
Well I emailed Pgcs about a 1797 half cent i found to be alittle bit strange....
I did get an emai back and the person said it does give "hints " of a double strike but is also Dmged,...
I will try to put as many good pics up as I can,But after everyones reply "i know theres gonna be a ton of them",I would like to know what I should do next involving grading and even who's the best for appraisal...
Thanks,
Bootleg

The lines/ridge looking things have depth to them so they are not cut into "like someone usin a axe to cut in half etc etc ".these are comming out of the coin....
the rev has the almosr same thing
to bad this is one of the good pics of the rev.,......
PCGS and NGC will not grade and encapsule damaged coins.
ANACS will authenticate and grade the coin, even if damaged. $20 plus shipping both ways. 2 weeks door to door unless you
live in Ohio, and you can drive it over
Free Trial
But I dont see what would be Dmged on the coin if it is a minting error,......
The pictures could be deciving, and not show the Rev's error's,.
Also when the coin is flipped on the Obv,it looks like theres somthing under "Liberty" maybe another head?........
Interesting coin you have there.
jeff
or should I say I ACCUMULATE!
I also dabble with the darkside
Ive recently gotten more into currency, especially modern star notes
I would like to know what everyone finds interesting?
so i can take better pics of those areas......
Apropos of the coin posse/aka caca: "The longer he spoke of his honor, the tighter I held to my purse."
-----under his rules coins would be state owned!,and we wouldnt beable to collect such things as coins or really anything.......
Damaged or error, that is a neat-lookin' coin. I can't recall the last time I saw a Lib Cap half cent in person. I've never owned one.
But I still think it's cool.
I will take better pics for all,in differnt angles so everyone can see in detail.....
Ill have pic's up later tonight...
I do have a 1805 Half Cent I would like everyone to see also "see if its a sm5 stems type", I never seen the med 5 type so help woth that would be appreacated
the 1797 will have better pics by tommarow!!.......
I will take shots of every angle......
thanks again,,,,,,
