I don't even know where to begin with this Beckett thread...

It's like watching 2 monkeys trying to hump a football. One or both of those guys can get seriously screwed by the other. I would almost be willing to bet that they're both scammers who end up scamming each other.

That is one of the funniest "conversations" I have ever read! It's like they both have 3rd grade educations...in fact, half the time, I cant figure out what they are trying to say to one another.
As for that link to the funny cards....excellent link, I enjoyed those!
  • wow Its funny watching 2 scammers try to scam each other...hummm a shoebox full of 1000 t-206 cards..think maybe he embelished on the found baseball cards in the attic story that was just announced.

The Link below will take you to the PSA Boards 1952 Set Build, I also have made 5 slideshows each slideshow is 100 cards long, card numbers 1-99,100-199,200-299,300-399, and 400-407

This is a gross exageration - all those shots of Mossi simply were taken of his bad side.

Not surprisingly, that kind of conversation is not unusual on the Beckett boards. Mudflap, who's young enough to be my son, would be a senior citizen to most people there, where a "vintage" card is Barry Bonds' rookie.

    jr-

You'd actually be surprised at how old a lot of people on Beckett are. I post on there prett infrequently to pick up heritage every now and then, and I would say that the majority of the guys I trade with are older than me- getting paypal/mail sent to their work addresses etc.

I guess I would be surprised also.....I share dolan's view of the Beckett baseball board.....that place is an idiot's paradise.

While we are on interesting conversations...OT...here's a voicemail message left by an operations manager from Jack in the Box to his supervisor. While he was recording the message he witnessed an accident.

It starts slow but then gets good! The guy makes the whole thing work. If you've heard it already...well...nevermind. image

Well, Muddy, then they're doing an awful good job of impersonating 14-year-olds who spend all their lawn-mowing money on packs they groped in Wal-Mart, feeling for inserts.

I've been through there a few times just so I wouldn't be totally ignorant of that side of today's hobby. I totally understand it's a generation gap thing (heck, my parents thought BB cards were a waste of MY lawn-mower money when I was a kid). But if a lot of those adolescent-sounding illiterates on Beckett are really adults, that truly is depressing.

I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.

jrdolan, don't be surprised if they are adults. This short bus reject is 37 (maybe 38 by now).

He got very upset at me last year for making fun of his sell/trade list on a sportscards discussion list last year, when I made jokes about each error in sequence. He hasn't actually corrected any of the errors, although he does seem to add new cards and sell a few others.

There are plenty more like him. Many of them sell on eBay.

    Be depressed. Be very depressed.
