Question about buying a 1968 card set

If an eBay seller who has 110 Positive feedbacks with no negatives had an auction for a set which ended with no bids and he agreed to sell it to me, do you think it would be safe to buy it from him outside of eBay? We are talking about $1,100.

While you may not get eBay's buyer protection, you can still get protected through Paypal and/or your credit card. Your credit card may be the best of any protection, so I'd go that way.

I would tell them sure but you have to re-list the auction as a buy it now auction with the said price. buy it now and pay em with paypal.

I don't think he has to go thru that much trouble - I believe the guy can send someone an invoice to be paid thru paypal and get the same protection?

Justin, you may want to ask yourself why this set didn't sell for $1,100 the first time out. I'm sure many collectors would jump at a '68 set for that price. Maybe it's just not worth that much? Maybe it is? A couple of key cards off grade can really lower a sets value.

Be careful. If you think its worth the money ...go for it.
