Help......... If you had to choose.........

would you keep all your 62 thru 65 common date Morgans or sell so you could buy a 64/65 Bust Half ? image

What about better date morgans vs the bustie?

I just can't decide. Its so hard to sell sometimes, drives me crazy. image

I need a little push one way or the other.... help

I would sell all but one Morgan to buy bust halves regardless of grade. The only reason that I would keep the one is to remind me how ugly a Morgan dollar is when compared to the beauty of a Bust.image

Myself, I have turned into a collector who believes it is better to get rid of the common stuff and get the uncommon stuff. The uncommon stuff, I believe, has better potential for value holding (as it will always be in demand) and can be the cornerstone of a collection. You can get the common coins anytime. And when the market eventually goes down, you can pick them up cheaper.

Bust Halves are so much cooler than Morgans, the decision is a no-brainer.

By the way, I really like that 39 you use for your icon. Yours?

Its a question of taste and interest. I have little interest in bust coinage and much interest in Morgans. My answer is "No." I don't collect for investment purposes. My goal is to assemble a collection of Morgan dollars. image
Always looking for attractive rim toned Morgan and Peace dollars in PCGS or (older) ANA/ANACS holders!

You are right. It is a matter of personal taste. Of course, if I DID collect for investment purposes I sure wouldn't pick Bust halves...I would probably collect Morgans.image

I think you outta stick with the Morgans. They're more popular and there is a much better selection to choose from.

Besides, some of those old Busties are just crusty looking anyway.

Too late..I already packed up the Morgans. They're going to the market tomorrow. I am keeping the better dates and Carson City mint coins. The Morgans just don't do it for me.I don't know why but I just can't keep my eyes off the busties image.

    Jim,
I already have my 27, so you don't have to worry about that...unless I find a 65 I like better image and BTW, yes that is my 39-O. Thanks
