Question for collectors of autographed basketballs/footballs/soccer balls.

I recently purchased an autographed soccer ball and am curious if I should keep the ball inflated. Would keeping it inflated cause long term structural damage? The other thing to consider is its age: nearly 20 years old. I suppose the logical thing is to inflate it just enough to keep its shape. Any thoughts?

In honor of Jim Rome I should point out that this is a sports related forum here!! That is one of Rome's passions, that soccer is not a sport.

Just kidding and have no clue on deflation v. inflation. I know with non autographed soccer balls you are supposed to slightly deflate after each use.
  • I keep both my autographed Basketballs inflated for display purposes. I check regularly and add pressure as needed. If you deflate the ball and leave it that way for a long period of time, it could distort the auto's if it is inflated later on. Hope this helps!!! image
