    The hat is just gold coins (and one or two gilded pieces). But no, I don't have one of those on the vest. As a matter of fact, I don't believe I have anything from William and Mary.

    I guess that might be a farthing? I have a 1690 (unholed) William and Mary copper farthing, but it's the British homeland type. I think they struck a lot of tin farthings, too, which must look absolutely wretched today. That piece there looks to have a brassy color to it, like some of the slightly earlier "gunmoney" pieces I have seen.

    I really do need to get the Seaby/Spink Scotland/Ireland book one o' these days.
