Welcome to the club. I'm gettin' ready to post a Louis XV silver jeton a generous Litesider just gave me.

What Labmom said. While I can't tell you much, I do know one thing- it's sweet-lookin'!
It does have something to do with a coronation- perhaps that of George II himself? The date is right- 1727.
AHA! Thankyou, Google. The example in the link, a little nicer than yours (EF), sold for £240.
Say, Dan, on another topic- did you ever sell your plate money? And if so, what'd you get for it?
Now let's figure out mine.

No, it's still in my shop. I just like to keep old interesting stuff hanging around (see attached image)

I made it for Aethelred but he was too chicken to wear it around at the show. It looked much better on you, anyway.
I too like to have interesting stuff around the shop (or in my case, the antique mall booth). That's why I try to have some ancient, medieval, Darkside, and just plain odd-n'-curious stuff for the cases. Of course, now that I am down to just my two Spin Display cases, the plate money is too big to fit in there. But I can put a picture of it in one of the trays and stash it underneath.
I got one of those Cook Islands "Crown Jewels" dollars with the jewels inside it, too. A little cool-lookin' NCLT like the stuff you sell kinda jazzes things up.
No. 178.6 The official coronation medal. By J. Croker, 34mm - 1727
238 struck in gold, 1984 value 1000 pounds
800 struck in silver, 1984 value 75 pounds
Forrer's article on him John Croker aka Iohann Crocker is 7 pages long; your medal is mentioned in the extensive list of his work. Hope this helps.
You want how much?!!
