Autographed hats & baseball

I recently bought a bunch of baseball cards and other memorabilia at an estate auction. Included were two hats, an Indians hat autographed by Bob Feller and a Dodgers hat autographed by Maury Wills. Both hats appear to be brand new. Both have a numbered hologram sticker under the bill. Do these holograms in any way authenticate the autographs? The Feller is numbered DB76093233 and the Wills is numbered DB57599101. There is also a baseball autographed by Wills with no authentication. Any advice appreciated.
