Saw this split planchet Linc on Ebay...Any opinions if the 2 halfs are from the same coin?

Any opinions? It looks like it to me...But I really can't tell until I slap them together.

Any idea if these things(finding both halfs) together is rare or not? Or price?

Thanks
Tom

Sure looks to me like they started life as the same coin. It's a bit unusual but not unheard of to find both pieces. I was once the underbider on a similar 1903 V-Nickel on eBay, and Rich Schemmer had a 1947 nickel as well.

Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.

I have seen fakes that looked a lot like that one. I can't tell if this one is the real deal or not, but be sure first before you bid

Looks like the same coin split in half. What a fascinating addition to a collection. Good Luck!
