If I ever decided to buy gold, you can bet your ass that would also be my rule. I could get screwed in a heartbeat buying raw. Too many of the fakes look real to me.

It's real and I have a proposition for anyone that disagrees:

Buy the coin for roughly $250. If it's fake, I'll give you $1000 for it. If it's real, you give me the coin. First qualified response before midnight has a deal!

No. The coin does look like it has been lightly cleaned. Of course, at this grade, light cleaning hardly affects the coin's value.
