I don't know but he has been buying an awful lot of legitimate stuff:

Is what too good to be true? It's a totally trashed T205 Collins. If three-quarters of its condition problems went away, it would still grade PSA 1 Poor. I don't see any reason to suspect chicanery. If it was T206 Wagner being offered raw on eBay, I would say scam. But not this.

Thanks, Nightcrawler. JRD, I think you got the wrong sale. What I was looking at was a Cobb/Crawford T201. It looks in pretty rough shape, but it is the highest priced of this set by far. If legit, at $9, it's a pretty good deal.

Sorry, I clicked on the link posted by gemmy10. I thought he was posting a link for you.

On the Cobb/Crawford, his feedback is low and it's poor. That would be enough to scare me away from buying into a deal that seems too good to be true. Also, the odds are pretty high that it was rejected by a grading service for some bad reason (reprint?) and thus is being sold "as-is." Nobody in his right mind sells a legitimate Ty Cobb card ungraded, no matter the condition. That's flushing 90% of the sale price down the toilet.

Of course there's a tiny chance that it's a gradeable Cobb. If you have some extra bucks you don't mind gambling on a long shot ... Just don't put it back on eBay the same way this person did after PSA rejects it!
