Breaking bad news to real wanna be coin seller.

Poor guy was a new member to our coin club and brought 20 2005 5 coin proof sets to sell for 25.00 each.
Somebody told him that I had just sold some last month for $17.50 each. He asked me how I got them so cheap to which I responed that I bought them from the mint and sold them almost for cost.
New guy then tells me that the dealer he bought them from told him that only "big dealers" could buy them from the mint. Nobody bought any and he left feeling pretty disgusted. This is another good example of why many dealers have a bad reputation.

This is terrible.
I sure hope it does not turn off the newbie from continuing to attend the club.

However, this person has tons to learn before he starts flipping coins (or even just collecting them). Hopefully you were able to steer him in the right direction.
