It does not look like an OBW roll, but even OBW rolls can be re-wraps!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • This seller has another 5 roll pack that is unopened for sale, if they are from the mint or bank, and truly unseaerched, i think the possibility might be worth going thru them, I would love to find a 55-D DDO. image

Those are customer wrapped, not mint wrapped, and not bank wrapped. There's a really good chance that they are original (meaning all from the same source material, i.e., bag, rolls, etc). They appear to have been wrapped like that many years ago, not too unlikely to be in 1955. I'd be inclined to give above ask for them, but not much higher than that.

  • Looks like hand rolled to me, but if the price is right, Go For It...
  • Seller is asking 19 bucks a roll, or 5 rolls wrapped for 89 bucks... Here's a pic of the end of one of the rolls.image

Huh? Looks like two different roll types. The first pic looks like fold overs while the second looks like a machine wrap. image
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

$19 is double the ask price. I wouldn't go that high.

I've seen a lot of contemporary 1940s & 1950s style handwriting, and the writing shown does not match up, IMO.

Did you already buy them? Looks like a shipping box in the first pic. I also think that price is too high.

I'm not sure I understand that question. While 1955D DDOs are just as uncommon as the 1955P version, they are far less known and far less visible, thus very possible to find in rolls, bags, etc. I found four of them in a recent trip through a $50 bag of circ wheats, and I've found another half dozen in my time in BU rolls. They bring about $25 in BU, $10 in higher circ grades.
