First time photo effort, not so hot!

I have sooo much to learn. Just got a 5400 Cool Pix tonight and wanted to try it out. I am NOT an experienced photographer so this should be fun. I basically just used the Macro setting and experimented with the flash.

These are a couple of the images that showed a little detail after I dulled them down enough to make the file size limit.

Have a laugh on me,
Dave

    Not a bad start! image

You might want to try taking the image and cropping the coin without shrinking.. the resizing is what's causing the distortion you're seeing.

Also, you probably won't want to use the flash. Try playing with your "white balance"

Looks like you have a nice type set in a Dansco 7070.. looking forward to seeing some other coins

Thanks Baley for the tips. As my photo skills improve I'll be glad to share the set.
I still have many holes to fill. It's hard to find coins that look right. Your set is the inspiration.
I don't want to settle for coins I don't like to just fill a hole.

Any others with tips/suggestions greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    SS
