Something smells fishy. Doing a check on their domain name, we find they have locked it:

Domain Name: ANSCOINS.COM
Registrar: ENOM, INC.
Whois Server: whois.enom.com
Referral URL: http://www.enom.com
Name Server: NS1.DNSJUNCTION.COM
Name Server: NS2.DNSJUNCTION.COM
Status: REGISTRAR-LOCK
Updated Date: 28-jan-2005
Creation Date: 28-jan-2005
Expiration Date: 28-jan-2006

There is simply no reason for a reputable business to block their registrar information. Scammers commonly do this.

Dammit, I wish I could remember the guy's name before this incarnation. It's been a couple of years, but he used the same line "just look at these pictures" and all he sold was crap. I'd avoid him.

It's definitely the same guy. If you right click where the picture was supposed to be on the 1909-S VDB, and on any of the current auctions, you'll see they're both hosted on the same RCN personal web page.

Actually, to lose power seller status, you have to drop below 98% for three consecutive months.

Not blocked, K6AZ. The whois at enom.com has full info. Site is registered to a guy in Northampton, PA.

<< Foreign bidders and faster delivery please use!!! Item will ship after one week with Paypal or Personal check. >>

He wants bidders to use Bidpay (money orders) for "faster delivery", while PayPal would delay shipping a week. It's a hit and run scam.

They claim on their My Ebay page that they've been in business for 35 years, yet the domain was created a little over a month ago.

Not only that Russ, he only paid for one year. Why would a legitimate business do that?

Glenn,

You find nothing wrong with the seller encouraging Bidpay, (money orders), while delaying shipping for a week if the bidder uses PayPal? That's a HUGE red flag.

I see red flags all over this person, but they are not breaking any eBay rules that I can tell.
Maybe I should have said. I can find no reason to report them. But I am going to keep my eye on them.

Ah, now I understand. I reported them anyway, even though there aren't any rules violations. I figure it's worth a shot to give eBay a heads up.

I received several harrasing phone calls from a Stefan Skweir, phone 610-440-2096 which was displayed on my caller ID. I reported it to the telephone company and am letting them handle it.

Well, since we now know the guy is reading the board, perhaps he can answer a few questions.

Why did you start a new eBay ID?

Why did you only register your domain name for one year?

Why are all your auctions private?

Are you aware of the federal laws regarding telephone harrassment?

The 1832 Bust Half listed as Overton 109 R5 is NOT that variety; besides, the current rarity on a real O-109 is R4.

His 1831 O-110A is only O-110 which is an R2 and only worth about $50, not the $450 he is asking.

Ten percent restocking charge.

Add 5% for Pay Pal.

No problem here, I need a good laugh once in awhile.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

He's math challenged as well ... offering 1 oz. silver rounds on his web site for $9.99 despite claiming they are two-thirds off the normal price of $15.99!

We are having a BLOWOUT SPECIAL on ONE OUNCE SILVER BARS and ROUNDS. Due to a high inventory level of these silver items, we are offering them at less than 2/3rds our normal selling price. That's right, less than 2/3rds the normal price just to get rid of our OVERSTOCK of these items. Take advantage of this offer. Don't miss this great opportunity. They usually sell for $15.99 or more per ounce, but you can now get them for a fraction of the cost.

And, the only other thing sold on his web site is a pound of wheaties for $9.99 ... you can add things to your "cart," but no where -- no where -- is an e-mail address, street address, phone number, etc .... the phantom seller.
