NO!!!
press hard five copies.
I noticed an earlier thread about the book "The Mercenaries Guide..." which I read through last year and he says first thing to do is sell all your mint proof sets. The mint sells as many as they can so never lack of supply, but I see several people here actively trade them. Mostly to crack open and submit for DCAM's it seems.

Yep, I think they're worth getting. I'll be getting some. Heck I already have the 05 clad and silver statehood sets. 5 of the clad and 10 of the silver. I may not get my money out of em selling em but I know a few people who just love to get em for Christmas. They're really a cheap gift and the proof silvers are really beautiful. If I didn't have so much $ tied up in the buisiness strike statehood quarters I would have a regestry set of these proof sets also
Yes this year's nickels are really cool. The buffalo design is the best!!!

I'm assuming you mean the 11-coin set, I always get the clad version for my personal collection.
I only started collecting the proof sets in 1999, so I have yet to be burned (like so many others). A number of people don't like the modern proof sets, because you can get a set from ~1960's-1990's STILL at a reasonable price (i.e. not that great of an investment). However, I was offered $75 in Jan & then $70 last week for my personal set (I only paid ~$23 + s/h or so)... not bad for a few months time... I wasn't even trying to sell either, I just casually mentioned it in a conversation...
I'll be buying proof buffalo nickel rolls soon, so I wouldn't be surprised if many sets were broken up + many people will put this set away, so there is real potential for the price appreciation.
On a side note,
We were having a similar conversation yesterday at the office; even if the mint does produce 2 million (I've heard last year's clad mintage was 1,785,539 or so), just to put together my proof rolls (of nickels), the best specimens will be cherry picked and slabbed, at least 160 will be put away for my personal collection & won't see daylight for another 10+ years & then I'll be running my AT experiments + album toning experiments; so at least 250-300 sets will be broken up JUST for my needs... 2 million doesn't seem like that many after all.
Just my thoughts...
Don't bet the farm though! You might want to get at least one set though (& remember collect what you like). I hope I was helpful.

I'd give you the world, just because...
Speak to me of loved ones, favorite places and things, loves lost and gained, tears shed for joy and sorrow, of when I see the sparkle in your eye ...
and the blackness when the dream dies, of lovers, fools, adventurers and kings while I sip my wine and contemplate the Chi.
<< <i>No, haven't bought any mint products since 1999. >>
Bummer, nothing like bad timing.
I buy sets every year.
FYI, the Nickel is NOT silver. The nickel is the same in the Silver Proof or Clad Proof.
Incase you didn't know that.
I'm stuck with 2004 Clad Proof sets..
