Now all I need is the Proof Version.

I finally have a sample of every Morgan Dollar from the year 1880 except for the proof version. heh. That one might take a while. image The grades of these coins range from probably a 'Fine' to maybe an MS61 on the 1880-S (Lower right corner). Sorry that the pictures aren't all that spectacular, but this was just a quick throw together and snap type of situation. The 1880-CC came in today, and has been mentioned in a previous thread, it does appear to have been cleaned in the past because it's just a bit too bright and there are a LOT of hairlines in the fields. However, for the price I paid I can't complain all too much because this bugger is staying in my collection and I don't think I could have found an 1880-CC any cheaper. So anyway, below are the pictures. Top Left is 1880, Top Right is 1880-O, Bottom Right is 1880-S, and Bottom Left is 1880-CC. (I also need to find a coin shop around here so I can pick up an Airtite capsule for the 1880-CC. I really don't want to deal with a bunch of shipping charges just to get one holder).

I collect the elements on the periodic table, and some coins. I have a complete Roosevelt set, and am putting together a set of coins from 1880.

    Nice set.
    The 1880-S looks great!

    Good luck on the proof.
Always looking for attractive rim toned Morgan and Peace dollars in PCGS or (older) ANA/ANACS holders!

Thank you. image The 1880-S caught me by surprise. When I bought it raw from E-Bay, I was expecting a cleaned, polished, or otherwise mediocre coin. I spent $15 on it and when it arrived I felt pretty good about the purchase. (I still can't get over the original, cartwheel luster that a 125 year old coin has).
