Need Help from McGwire Autograph Experts

Take a look at this auction.

I am curious what you guys think about the autographs. I am not sure why someone would have McGwire sign a 1985 All-Star team card. To the best of my knowledge, he didn't make the allstar team until 1987. Also, did that "gold-plated 62" card come out of the pack autographed? I would assume WCG is not the premiere authority on autographs, unless they're so much better than PSA/DNA that we can't mention them on this board.

Also, the title mentions something about bobble. Maybe he means starting lineup or bubble. I can forgive misusing terminology, as long as it is not intentional. Faulty descriptions can, from time to time, result in a good deal. I assume a lot of us have purchased a PSA card on eBay when there wasn't the word PSA in the title.

Are there any other red flags?

Also take a look at the PSA case on the 85 McGwire, and for that matter, the sloppy colors (purple and red) on the Score Board holder..

Doesn't look good to me. It just doesn't seem right how he posted a BIN for really cheap considering the rookies, and the auto's. I don't know, spend the little extra money for a real PSA cer. auto. I think you'd be a lot happier then with something you honestly don't know.

The auto on the gold die cut card looks pretty good to me, the one on the 85 all star card just seems odd. Why have someone autograph that card when they weren't even on the team...unless someone saw him in person and happened to have that card available? I have Sid Fernandez and Chris Sabo on a dollar bill cuz it's all I had and I wanted Ripken to sign the ball I had with me. That being said, the auto looks odd, however, he didn't get real "elongated" on the loop of the "G" until later in his career.... so if it's an old auto it might be legit. Doubtful.... but I don't see anything wrong with the auto'd gold card, other than it's graded by WCG of course.

For $10 a PSA/DNA quick opinion might be worth it. Problem is will they be perfectly unbiased because the card is in a WCG holder, most of us know how they treat GAI and Beckett stuff....

Might be worth a shot anyway.

I wasn't planning on bidding because there were just too many red flags and I am a novice in this particular realm. It looks like nobody took the bait. It was definitely an interesting auction.
