want list vs. ebay

I emailed a rather lengthy wantlist to a dealer today. I should do well because he has many of them on his website. I was getting frustrated waiting for stuff to show up on ebay so thought I'd try this approach. Have any of you been sucessful at this and if so, have you developed a good bond with the dealer for future purchases?? I'd like to here some pros and cons. image

I've tried that before. Some are really good at getting back to me and have built relationships. Others have taken my name, address and wants and I've never heard from them again. It's kind of a mixed bag.

I have the feeling some dealers sell my name and address.

I've found that about 4 out of 5 dealers don't do anything with a wantlist unless it's got high-dollar coins and/or you've established a solid business relationship with them.
