Has anyone ever had a submission refused or the Service Level changed on a submission because the coin(s) were valued at more than the $300 Maximum Value/Coin???

I've submitted some I knew would blow out ceiling if they scored one point higher than I thought and I've never had a problem. I don't think PCGS worries about one point, or liner coins, but if you submitted a no-doubt killer, you might hear something...

Like submitting my 1804 Silver Dollar for economy.

    (wait, that'll never happen image)

I made two 1967 MS67DCAM SMS Jeffersons on a modern submission. No problem with PCGS bouncing it or changing anything. BTW, I thought they were cameos, so I had them listed at $50 each. I was a little off. image

  • I think the chances of that happening are pretty slim - they want to grade coins, and we tend to overestimate the value of our submissions, as a general rule (at least I do...image ).
Although, I have had learned to lower my expectations, and therefore the estimated value of the submission - but I have had some pleasant surprises, which resulted in values a good bit above my listed price, but no problem from PCGS.
On a side note - I DID IT! I cracked my 1917 SLQ and sent it in raw, to take advantage of one of my free submissions with membership renewal. I'm pretty anxious to get the results - I don't like the idea of that coin being on the other side of the country! But I'm sure it will return safe & sound, hopefully with a very nice number, and a couple of letters attached to the slab! I'll let you all know how it comes back.
Al - I have a few questions about some Jeffs I've got - I'll PM you tomorrow.

    it's much better by far,
