Acetone dip Modern Lincoln cent?

I think this has been covered before, but I could not find a thread on it. I have nice 71-S proof Lincoln that may go deep cameo, but its got some haze on it. Is it safe to acetone dip copper?

  • If it a potential DCAM I think NCS is your best bet on a money proof lincoln. Goo Gone supposedly works well with these as well. If you do use acetone use a multi bath (I use 3 different acetone containers).

NEVER dip a proof cent in acetone...not unless you want to permanently cloud the coin!!
