How to use the PM board thing??????

I always feel bad asking dumb quesstions since I've been a member for many years. But here goes anyway.
I know how to answer a person's thread with a PM by clicking on the LOCK icon in the upper right of the mesage. I know how to answer someone that sends me a PM by just clicking on REPLY.
But now suppose I want to send a PM to WXYZ (no such person I hope). I was told once to go to the LOCK symbol icon in the upper left of the screen and click on that. I can do that and a screen appears with lots of little things to do. One says Send a Private Message to _______. So if I enter WXYZ there, then where do I write the message. If I enter the name and click on send, poof it's all over. Can any one help an getting to old to understand person?

When you put the name in the little box, and click" send message," the little PM window appears for that person, and you write the message as usual. Clicking "Send Message" doesn't actually send the message in that case.

If you have a Pop-Up blocker, it may block the window from appearing, which actually happened to me when I first started using it.

If you think you might be having this problem here's the fix:

1. Click START menu at bottom left of your desktop.
2. Click on CONTROL PANEL
3. Click INTERNET OPTIONS
4. Click on the PRIVACY Tab
5. Click on SETTINGS down by Pop-Up Blocker
6. Type this in the narrow window that says Address of Web site to allow:
forums.collectors.com
7. Then click on the ADD button to right of that.
8. Close it out and try to post a PM - Good Luck
