Heritage auction customer service

I just found out that Heritage won't contact the previous owner of a coin and have them delete it from their PCGS registry set. It's not their problem. Do other auction houses do this? I expected them to be a little more helpful in this matter.

PCGS can delete it for you if you send them a photo if the coin in question.

Not sure how this is their job, it is not their registry. As long as they deliver the coin I would think they did what they were paid to do. Never had a problem with emailing PCGS on the matter.

I sent them an email. I expected Heritage to take a more supportive attitude than they did.

I agree...it's not there cup of tea so to speak. If you try to enter a coin into your set and it already exists in someone elses...the coin will be put into a queue and someone from PCGS will contact the previous owner to see if the coin was sold.....very easy process....and I am not sure why you feel Heritage should handle that?

Not knocking you as if you feel it's part of the whole transaction, I can't fault you...I just don't agree

They should help me because I asked them to. It's a simple matter of customer service and having the willingness to help.

I tend to agree with Shane. Sounds to me like a PCGS issue.

I'd rather it wasn't an issue at all. In my opinion, Heritage should include this as part of the sales process for coins they receive on consignment.
