Card conditions at Kit Young Cards

I'm looking at maybe buying some 1970 commons from Kit Young Cards thru his Beckett marketplace site. He lists card conditions as either "VG-EX/EX" OR "EX+/EX-MT". I'm specifically looking for some EX commons. Does anyone have any experience here that would say whether his "VG-EX/EX" stuff generally arrives as an EX or a VG? Thanks

Purchased from him once, cards were overgraded. Grading seems to be stuck back in the early 80's

VG, but they are very good on returns if you're not happy.

This is one of those cases where you'd be better off buying graded on ebay.

My opinion on Kit differs a little. Call them up, tell him what you're looking for, they did a nice job for me. I sent him $50 for '69 commons specifying that they must be able to meet at least PSA 7 standards. I got back some cards & a refund check for $27 . The note said that they didn't have as many in that grade as they thought. The cards I did get met the criteria. Very upfront & amenable in my opinion.

My only experience buying from Kit Young was a good one. I won a set of vintage football cards from them on ebay (I don't remember what set), and I thought the cards were just as described.
