Trade Dollar Nut upgrades a 1929 s Lincoln Cent from ms 65 red to ms 66 red

Bruce cherry picked a 1929 s Lincoln cent in a Rattler holder as an ms 65 red.I said 100% guaranteed to upgrade.Of course Velveeta disagreed with me.She was wrong but I guess she will sell it because she doesn't want me to have it.

    It's a nice coin. I thought a 100% lock at 66 with a small chance of going 67.

TDN finally let the cat out of the bag. He picked it up at a show that Stewart does not attend. Nice score big guy! Another point for those who say that all the remaining coins in old holders would have been tried already if they were worthy. NOT!

I didnt think that TDN was allowed to do minor coinage?

Wise Bearimage Actually if you look at TDN's winning PCGS contest results (I'm practicing), he had a few misses on the copper stuff. I guess all of Stewart's remarks made him study the boring backwater of minor coinage, that S.B. collects!image

It doesn't take much skill to look at a blazing red rattler early S mint Lincoln and buy it at the insert grade price! image

But after upgrades, crossovers and new discovery's, there will be 30 66's 10 years from now....image

TDN seems to be enjoying the hobby in the way I was hoping he would. We spoke privately and frankly. There is always joy in something new and different and it does not have to be that expensive!
