What do the different colored Treasury Seals on bank notes mean???

ShamikaShamika Posts: 18,781 ✭✭✭✭
Slightly off topic I know:

I recall a blue seal means Silver Certificate and a yellow seal means Gold Certificate. But what about a brown or red seal?

Why do all modern notes have a green seal?

  • Red seals are for United States Notes
Brown seals are for National Currency?

I know the guys in the US and World Currency Forum would know, they're a sharp lot.

I think a yellow seal was North Africa during WWII.
