Who likes the Hawaiian issues of 1883?

I'll be the first to admit that the image of King Kalakaua doesn't do much for me, but when they come nicely toned they are pretty cool. I'm intrigued by the history of the issue. I just picked up the half in my favorite grade (PCGS AU58) although I haven't received it yet.
I also have a nicely toned dime in PCGS XF40.

What do you think of the half below?

I like these issues very much and here is a PCGS MS66 quarter that I own. Unfortunately, neither PCGS nor NGC will allow me to register this coin as a State Quarter!

That is an incredible quarter Tom! PCGS should allow a waiver for its inclusion in the quarter registry!

I just got my dollar and finished the set. The cent is AU-53, dime and dollar are EF 40, quarter is AU 58, and the half is EF 45.

I lived in Hawaii for several years, and will always have it in my blood. This set was a must for me.

Of all my coins I get the King Kalakaua dollar out more often just to take a peek. It's a cool coin with cool history. I've had it for at least 15 years and it's still my favorite.
