Yesterday,
Passing thru a local shop on the way back home yesterday. I stopped in to see what had came in. Well the shop owner had purchased a set of indian head cents. Most looked to be at least Vf thru Au-58, the 1877, 1909-s and one of the 70's was not thier. But several were , including a few of the nice 1860's, and 70's, 58 Flyers, a super nice 59 as well. At first glance, they looked exceptionally nice Au-55, 58 ish. However, looking closer, The color seemed slightly off, after talking a little, the owner said he rubbed them with some kind of chemical and cloth to bring out the detail. For the raw set builder, that might be okay(not me though), but I dont think the TPG's will take to kindly too it. It was ashame of course, becuase they looked to be very nice high end circs.
