Topps Heritage and Target

I went to Target tonight....no dice, so I picked up a 3 packs of 2004 Bowman Heritage. God, I forgot these were the TV cards....Man, oh man, I absoultely HATE the TV. If I had know that these were the TV cards i would not have bought them. Did I forget to tell you that I hate the TV cards? LOL. I opened up one pack....NOTHING. I am going to let the kiddies open up the other two Bowman Heritage packs. I also bought 2 packs of 2005 Topps so the kiddies could enjoy fresh (I hope) Bazooka gum.

I might still spring for a case or couple of boxes of 2005 Topps Heritage on eBay. What's $500 when one has been indoctrinated on spending retail for three 2000 Upper Deck Yankee Master Collections?

By the way, having one Topps Heritage topic makes it hard to find what one is looking for because you have to wade throught 100's of posts. I can see having one thread for pack opening finds but specific questions should be handled in indivdual topics in my humble opinion.

    I agree Gemmy
On the Heritage - why not pick up a retail box and see what you think and go from there. I'm going to tell you that the quality control is off again this year - not as bad as last year but still there - in the official heritage thread I posted about how to return the cards if you have never done it.

    Good luck

  • Mike, I think I will do what you suggest....first I will buy a box and if I am crazy about it I will buy a case to open and a case to put away.

screw that, just buy a case of 2001 heritage, open it, pull a Mays 52 autoproof and then wave it around, scan it and make it your
new signature. got that? good.. now go do it.

Easier said then done. Now what the hell is an autoproof anyway?

I thought you knew heritage?? Time to go back to school!

    J/K

Toppps bought back 10 real 1952 topps Mays, they then sat Willie down and said "here, sign these"

If there is a cooler card that ever was in packs I don't know it!

I have only seen 1 out of 25, that means either a bunch are in private collections of they are in unopened boxes...there can't
be many 01 heritage cases still sealed.

    That's probably the reality Kevin
That case that you guys debated over went for a good price - talk about a good item to hold onto!

I would rather open a case of 01 than most all of the crap that is being sprewed out by the boatloads - in fact - 4 packs of exquisite or a case of 01? A no brainer for me.

There was a case of 01 heritage on ebay that went for like 1600$ is memory serves...last week or before?
If I had the dough to spare, I woulda picked up the case and either held it or one weekend had a big heritage party!

  • I found 3 boxes in my local target on Wednesday so you might want to keep trying Gemmy10.
  • stormsurge, thanks for the info. Were the boxes sealed?

Also, my wife had to run out to Wal*Mart so I told her to pick up a few packs if they have.

The booster boxes are out in 8 packs sealed - I would say 20 bucks like the Bowman heritage this year - that's actually a better discount - 8 packs out of an open box would cost you 24 bucks - so you are saving 4 bucks or 1/6th; with 11 packs for 30 bucks, you are saving 1/11th. Of course, less cards means decreased odds of pulling something.
Bad report - you won't get 8 SP's from 8 packs in the booster?
I'll just have to wait and see for myself.

  • Stone, in the booster box I busted yesterday there was an sp, insert, or variation in every pack. Could have been just an odd thing though.

  • The boxes had the plastic wrapping removed but I just happened to get their as the guy was putting out the boxes. I had a couple of nice pulls from them, auto duke snider the best.

God has not been good to me! I must have done something bad. image

    But I will keep hunting

What you pulled in the booster full boxes is what I would expect. It is the best buy for the set collectors!
