Could this be an 85CC VAM 4 ?

This 85 CC is graded a full cameo DMPL and has this really nice mark under the second 8 in the date. Could this be the dash that is described in a VAM 4? Any opinions?

    It's a VAM 2, not a VAM 4.

You're welcome. It was easy as there are only four 85-CC VAMs. Two are the dash under second eight. The difference is the dash on the VAM 2 is twice as far away from the lower loop of the eight as compared to the VAM 4.

Thanks John- You know its really something- I have had this coin for a while yet never noticed this before. Now if I even glance at the slab, all I see is this dash.

I have three 85-CCs, and I don't think I have a dash on any of them. I'll double check though.

JRocco, that's what makes coins interesting and enjoyable to collect. I always look over my coin collection looking for die varieties. You get a little suprise most of the time when looking at them closer. VAMS look really cool to collect. I think this weekend I'm going to order the VAM Book. I do have Morgans and I want to look them over and also purchase some new Morgan Dollars.
