Maybe you got the right forum and didn't know it. Darksiders are usually better graders, anyway. image

Ahem. This IS a coin forum. image But welcome anyway! image

As for your coin, it's not a coin. It's an Argentine Navy commemorative medal. It's hard to make out words from your pics, but it looks to be dated July 1938. I can't make out the ships clearly either, but they look like torpedo boats or maybe submarines.

No idea on value but that is a neat medal.

And as Askari said, this IS a coin forum. Just because it ain't a United States coin forum doesn't mean I wasn't semi-serious when I made the statement about Darksiders usually being better graders.

  • I've not seen this example before, so I cannot say what it's worth. It was probably distributed as a memento of some fleet celebration. Can you give me an idea of how it grades and whether a designer's name or initials are present (usually rimward in the lower half of the obverse)?

A.R.A? It is in AU condition I would say.

  • I don't recognize "A.R.A." -- sure that's not part of the legend? The sig would be smaller-sized than the legend font.

  • I'd guess that it could bring $9-29 on eBay, although you'd need better pics to get a good shot at more than $18.
