I find it kinda funny that he is trying to pass the card off as an original that was in a scrapebook. Obviously he's implying it was in a scrapebook from some kid back in the 50's or 60's. The problem is, as tape ages especially older tape from that time frame it yellows. This tape is new. What a putz!
The Back is the obvious Repint giveaway. look at the FONT of the words TOPPS BASEBALL and of the words to the right of them (Printed in the USA) to compare this Repint/Fake with the real deal!

Did they even have that type of "magic" Scotch tape in the 50's? For that matter, did they have Sharpie's? I use to have some old 50's and 60's baseball cards I "rescued" from an old scrap book. No Scotch tape, just 4 blobs of glue or paste, on the back.

I have some photos cut like that - I had to snip the corners in similar fashion so they would fit into a particular picture frame that had angled corners. I'm guessing for a buck or two and a sharpie the original owner had a cute little conversation piece.

<< <i>Card looks genuine to me and I think the signature is a genuine Mickey Mantle signature signed after his death. >>
I would agree with my learned friend. Posthumous signatures are rare and very hard to come by.
when did he first mention it was a reprint?
