Hennin - 659, 31mm
Made from the bronze of extra cannon these were produced by the defenders of the fortress of Luxemburg while being
beseiged by the French. Luxemburg was annexed to France after the fortress' capture.
1799 2nd Siege of Mantua - 1 Soldo "di Milan"

Hennin 909, 28mm
In this case the defenders were French and the coin came into being during a twenty day siege. Hennin mentions that
a Milanese soldo was worth about 4 French centimes. This siege is not the famous one carried on by Napoleon during
his Italian campaigns. By this time he is in Egypt and the Austrians are attempting to retake Italy along with their
2nd Coalition allies Russia and England.
