YES, here is my Long Beach report. After the last LB show of many dealers not even bothering to set up.
And another fair amount not wanting to deal with the public I told myself I will not travel to this show until if
and when this type of situation changes.

It's got to where they either only want to do wholesale business, or bring their inventory home for their website.
That's fine so I don't need to bother traveling and all the other arrangements needed to make to attend anymore.

I also know many collectors feel the same way as I do.

    Hope you enjoyed my report!image

    stman,

Insightful report on the current atmosphere - less retail being done on the bourse. Thanks.

Heh, just to be clear, I mentioned my feelings after the LAST LB show. But yes this is why I did not attend this one currently.
From now on I've told myself I will not travel more than two hours to attend a show. Just not worth it anymore IMO.

Show is busy. Traffic is good. Heard the same old statement, "not enough fresh material; all fresh stuffs are in auctions."

My observation is that on the floor, price is stable. I believe market is still digesting the $81,000,000 FUN show auction materials.

  • I had the best show of my life ---

    (1) upgraded my 1911 PCGS PR63CAM Barber Half to a 64
    (2) upgraded my 1911 PCGS PR65 Barber Quarter to a CAM designation.
    (3) made the top pop 1934-D Peace $ VAM#4 @ NGC and also made 3 MS63s and 1 MS62
    (4) got several upgrades on crosses from PCGS to NGC with a * on a beautifully toned 44-S MS66 Merc Dime
    (5) found a bunch of wildly toned Jeffs for my set
    (6) found 21-D and 21-P toned Morgans (very hard to find with color)
    (7) got NGC to designate a bunch of Top50 VAMs on coins I already owned for my VAM set
    (8) got a bunch of Dansco rainbow rim toned Ikes from IdahoGirl

and most importantly --- I found my "holy grail" of Peace $

(9)a 1922 NGC MS64 Textile Rainbow Toned Peace $ -- complete dimple effect across the obverse with reds, golds & greens (pics soon)

Can't wait to go back Saturday!!!
