author icon?

Sorry for being a computer idiot but can someone tell me how to upload a personal photo for my author icon.

I think CU only allows you to upload icons once a month - usually on the 15th. I think they have to be smaller than 100x100 pixels and less than 10KB. Once you have such an image stored on your drive, you can upload it at the designated times via the "profile" tab that you see near the top of most message board pages.

If you ever need a hand editing a image to meet the requirements so you're able to use it I'll be happy to edit the image for you.

Is there a good reason why you can't upload an icon whenever you want? I just don't get it...

It probably keeps the number of uploaded images to a manageable size on the CU servers. If everyone had carte blanche access to upload new icons anytime, the storage space required would be 30-fold.

I would guess the amount of space it takes to hold them all.. If they let people do it whenever can you imagine how many there will be to choose from when you do the 'view all' dealy. It takes forever to load all the little pic's as it is.
