Trying to put a VAM number on this 1923-D Peace dollar. I saw a photo for a VAM-1N that looked similar. No mention of the other cracks. Several go to the rim.
Anyone have a 23-D 1N?
I attempted to draw the cracks on each side.
obverse without lines
reverse without lines
any help on this earlier thread?

1) If the crack turns into a break, meaning there is physical metal on top of the coin that you can see if you lay the coin flat and look at it from an angle. Not raised like a wave, but jagged twisted metal that looks like it shouldn't be there.
2) Part of the coin is actually sunkin in and is clearly at a different level from the rest of the coin.
3) Doubling in areas not common.
4) Excessive die polishing or areas on the coin which have actually been altered due to die polishing.
5) Pitted areas of the coin caused by rusted dies...
Hope that helps...

I was thinking the crack and break throuigh the Y would be enough to VAM it. I may be wrong though. m I have not attributed the one I have. I have about 15 other die crack.break Peace dollars, too, that I have yet to attribute. No time.
