There are several items still for sale (including the 1869 penny, which has over 500 hits and a LOT of watches) and some items for bid. There are no bids, even on the £1 starter.
I've already received one question from an ebay member, something to the effect of "that coin is worth no more than £2,000." I expect more of the same.
There was a thread a while ago on describing a similar auction, so I was inspired by that idea. At 181 hits on the auction already, it has certainly caused the desired consternation! There are more than a few "watchers" too!
"Does this coin come with a small house? If I were to buy it my wife would promptly throw me out and I would need a place for my 1869 Penny and I to live."

Wybrit's response to my question:
"I can ship the coin to you in a large cardboard box that act as a surrogate home until you find better accomodations."

Wybrit - up here in Kodiak we would have to ask "do you use a flasher when you go trolling?" (and we are not inquiring about the guy in the long coat with a grin on his face...)

Because if someone wants it badly enough and will pay the price, I'm willing to part with it.

<< <i>How large of a box? >>
I would need enough room for myself, the 1869 Penny and a computer. I would need a box that is wired to support high speed internet service.

Does the box have a heater? I would need one on days like today!
