Question for everybody

RE: Russes discussion of the 65 SMS JEFFERSON.

Different Coin here.

1957 PR68CAM Lincoln, suppose you offered 50 % of the PCGS price guide for every one currently known,or roughly 1100.00.
Thats 8 @ PCGS and 11 @ NGC

How many sellers would you get ?

  • Why would that be George ?

  • I was thinking the same thing...None..........I guess it would be a question on if they could make another one...and I think the answer would be "possibly, but not likely"

Not my area of expertise, but if I had a top pop coin etc....I don't think I would sell it for half guide. Yes I know half of PCGS guide might be full retail, but I would hold onto it.
  • I offered you one, George, on 08/19/04 for $1000, and you passed!

Only because he couldn't get hold of the owners of the other seventeen.

I'm guessing most of the NGC coins would be sold. None of the PCGS coins would sell.
Buyer and seller of vintage coin boards!
  • Twas a hypothetical ?

Bushmaster did offer me one for a grand, which i wasnt prepared to pay (still aint !)

Now if i could lock up the other 18 at one shot,i would probably hock the farm !

I was just comparing POPS to the JEFF nickel.

A lot of the moderns aren't really available at market price. There
are holders of some of these coins who would sell if the prices were
higher but for the main part it's just one coin here or two coins there.

Most of the rare and high grade coins are tied up in collections and
    will remain so for years.

Some of these coins are probably almost all spoken for. Try finding
a really nice cameo SMS cent or top notch '73 Ike.
